BYD, the world’s largest electric car company, is now preparing to launch its new small electric car in Japan. The name of this car is BYD Racco, which means sea creature Sea Otter. The company has specially prepared it keeping in mind the small and crowded cities of Japan. Roads in Japan are often narrow and there is a high demand for small cars. For this reason BYD has designed this model in compact size. It is believed that this car can give direct competition to companies like Honda and Nissan.
Small size but good location
The length of BYD Racco is approximately 3,395 millimeters. This size has been kept as per the rules of Japan. From outside, this car appears to have a boxy design, but due to its good height, the occupants get enough space inside. The advantage of small size is that it will be very easy to drive and park in traffic. This car can prove to be very convenient for daily use in the city. It can be parked comfortably even in small space.
Ocean themed premium interior
BYD has designed the interior of this car on a special ocean theme. The design of the cabin has been kept clean and modern. A large floating touchscreen has been provided in the middle of the dashboard, through which most of the features of the vehicle can be controlled. Despite its low price, its interior looks quite premium. It feels more high-tech compared to ordinary small petrol cars. The design of the seat and dashboard has also been made keeping comfort in mind.
Two battery options and fast charging
BYD Racco will be offered with two battery packs. The 20 kWh battery can give a range of about 180 to 200 kilometers on a single charge, which is fine for the city. Whereas a 30 kWh battery can last for about 300 kilometers. This car can support DC fast charging up to 100 kW. This will charge the battery in less time and save time.
price and competition
Its starting price in Japan can be around 25 lakh Japanese Yen i.e. around 13.5 to 14 lakh rupees. At this price it will give tough competition to companies like Nissan and Mitsubishi. BYD is trying to provide cheaper and better cars on the basis of its battery technology.
