BCCI will come under the government?
According to the new rules presented in the sports bill, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will also come under the purview of the government. Although BCCI is a private organization and it does not even take funds from the government, but this institution will be taken as a federation and the cricket board will also have to get recognition from the government. At the same time, BCCI has been excluded from the purview of RTI. According to the Sports Bill, the National Sports Tribunal will be formed, which will have rights and powers like the court, which will settle all kinds of disputes.
This sports bill has passed from the Lok Sabha. It is yet to be passed in Rajya Sabha. After this, the President is yet to be approved by the President, after which it will be converted into the law.
