Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP Manickam Tagore has criticized Digvijay Singh’s statement about RSS organization. He even compared Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh with terrorist organization Al Qaeda. Manickam has called it a ‘famous self goal’.
Manickam Tagore said, ‘RSS is an organization which is built on hatred. It spreads hatred. There is nothing to be learned from hatred. Can you learn something from al-Qaeda? Al-Qaeda is an organization of hatred. He hates others. What is there to learn from that organization?’
What did Digvijay Singh say?
Digvijay Singh had shared a black and white photo from the 1990s. In this picture, young Narendra Modi is seen sitting on the ground near senior BJP leader LK Advani at an event in Gujarat. Along with this photo, he wrote, ‘People who once worked at the grassroots level can rise up in the organizational hierarchy and become Chief Ministers and eventually Prime Ministers.’
In this post Digvijay Singh called it the power of organization. He also tagged senior Congress leaders including Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, MPs Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Jairam Ramesh, PM Modi and the official handle of the Congress in the post.
He wrote in his post, ‘I found this picture on Quora site. This is very impressive. How did grassroots volunteers of RSS and workers of Jan Sangh @BJP4India become the Chief Minister of the state and the Prime Minister of the country by sitting on the ground near the feet of the leaders? Digvijay Singh’s clarification after controversy
After the controversy over the statement increased, he also gave a clarification. On this he had said that he had praised the organizational structure of RSS, not its ideology. He remains an opponent of RSS and PM Modi.
