UPSC’s Civil Services Examination is counted in the country’s most difficult and prestigious examinations. Every year lakhs of candidates appear in this examination, but due to limited seats, many qualified candidates are not able to make a place in the final list. Now the central government has taken a big step for such candidates. In the Rajya Sabha, the government said that these candidates will be given opportunities in government jobs and other fields through the ‘Pratibha Setu’ scheme.
Many times it happens that candidates pass both the prelims and men’s exam and reach the interview, but the name is not available in the final selection list. In such a situation, their hard work and ability are not used properly. Keeping this problem in mind, the name ‘Pratibha Setu’ has been planned, which is aimed at linking these candidates with other government departments, public sector companies and private institutions.
NCS portal will benefit
The government has informed that this scheme will be related to the National Career Service (NCS) portal. The data of such candidates will be uploaded on this portal, who remain out of the final list in the civil service examination. After this, various ministries, departments and government institutions will give job opportunities to eligible candidates according to their need by looking at this data. This will not only give new opportunity to these candidates, but government departments will also get a chance to choose better talent.
How will selection
The information of registered candidates on the NCS portal will be kept safe and the institutions or companies concerned will be able to contact them directly. This means that candidates will not have to apply again and again. Once registered, they will be eligible for many opportunities.

These candidates have already undergone rigorous selection process, so they have administrative, management and leadership ability, which can be very useful in government or private sector.
Benefits from the scheme
Eligible candidates will get a job opportunity according to their skill and capacity. Government and private institutions will be able to get eligible personnel without long recruitment process. The hard work and preparation of the candidates will not be wasted. Trained talent in the country’s administrative and management sector will be properly utilized.
