Uttarakhand has defeated Punjab by 5 wickets in Vijay Hazare Trophy. The Punjab team was captained by Abhishek Sharma, who had scored 269 runs in the stipulated 50 overs while playing first. In reply, Uttarakhand won by 5 wickets in the 48th over. Uttarakhand captain Kunal Chandela played a century inning of 118 runs. This is the first defeat of the Punjab team in the current tournament.
Punjab, captained by Abhishek Sharma, came to bat first in the match. Captain Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh gave a bright start to the Punjab team, both of them took the team’s score beyond 50 in just 6 overs. First Prabhasimran was out after scoring 28 runs. Punjab team was able to add only 9 runs to its score, then Abhishek Sharma also got out after scoring 30 runs.
Salil Arora scored 65 runs for Punjab, while Krish Bhagat, who batted at eighth position, contributed 51 runs. Punjab team was able to score 269 runs.
Punjab’s first defeat
Uttarakhand, which came to chase the target of 270 runs, had a very bad start as both the openers were out by the score of 24. But captain Kunal Chandela was seen in a different mood. He played a brilliant century inning of 118 runs. Shaswat Dangwal also played a half-century inning of 51 runs for Uttarakhand.
