In today’s world, if any generation is said to be the smartest, fastest and most digital, then it is Generation Z. Born between 1997 to 2012, these youth have grown up with technology, mobile, social media and internet. These are also called digital natives and zoomers.
But the interesting thing is that there is increasing concern among companies regarding the generation which is called super smart. A new survey revealed that Gen Z employees are being fired the most and the fastest.
Hiring managers’ opinions are shocking
In September 2025, Intelligent.com released a large survey based on 1000 hiring managers. The result of this survey was surprising. 60% of hiring managers said they fired Gen Z employees too quickly. 1 out of 6 managers clearly said that they do not want to hire Gen Z at all.
Why are companies firing Gen Z employees?
Many managers said that Gen Z is not able to communicate clearly, accurately and professionally. 38% said that these people do not even give timely feedback. This lack of communication creates problems in teamwork.
Surprisingly, there was less enthusiasm towards work in this digital generation. 20% of managers said that Gen Z does not start work early. Often they have to be reminded several times.
46% hiring managers clearly said that Gen Z has more problems with professionalism. These include not completing work on time, difficulty in adopting office culture, not taking responsibility, taking leave frequently.
Gen Z is definitely smart, but according to the survey, many youth have trouble learning new things. More than 500 managers said that this generation does not adopt change easily. Being digital is a different thing, but working in the field becomes their real challenge.

The report increased concern
A survey conducted by ResumeBuilder.com in April found the same thing. 74% of managers said Gen Z is difficult to work with. Whereas it is easier for them to work with people of their own generation.
