CBSE 2026 board exam dress code revealed, know what boys and girls are required to wear?

The tension of students is also increasing for CBSE board exams. Every student wants that his hard work pays off and the papers go well. But sometimes small carelessness becomes a big problem, especially on the exam day. Keeping this in mind, CBSE has issued clear guidelines regarding dress code. The aim of the board is not just to be strict, but to make the examination fair and safe. If students understand the rules beforehand and prepare accordingly, then there will be no rush or stress on the exam day.

The question that comes to the mind of many students is why is there a need for dress code? Actually, all the students are examined at the examination centre. If the clothes have too many pockets, metal or heavy accessories then checking takes time. Due to this, the queue becomes longer and the students start feeling stressed. That is why the board has said that the simpler and lighter the clothes are, the easier the entry will be. The purpose of dress code is not only to maintain discipline but also to prevent any kind of inappropriate activity.

What should boys wear?

Students who are appearing for regular exams from their school will have to go in their full school uniform. The uniform should not be incomplete. Whereas private candidates can wear light colored simple shirt or T-shirt. Wear plain pants or trousers underneath. Avoid clothes that have too many zips, big buttons or metal. Keep shoes also simple. There is no need to wear heavy or high-ankle shoes. Simple slippers or sandals are a better option.

What are the rules for girls?

The rules for girls are almost the same, but it is important to pay attention to some special things. Regular girl students should go in their school uniform only, private girl students should wear light and comfortable clothes. Avoid wearing excessively embroidered, designer or heavy clothes. Do not wear jewelery at all whether it is small earrings or rings. The board has clearly said that one should not come wearing earrings, nose pin, anklet, bangle, bracelet, necklace or anything else. Do not wear high heels in footwear. It would be better to wear flat slippers or simple sandals. Do not wear metal clips or heavy accessories in your hair. Simple and light attire will give you comfort and the examination will not take time.

Important things for exam day

Apart from the dress code, there are some important things which are very important to understand. Like first of all, reach the examination center on time. Arriving late increases nervousness and can lead to problems in checking. Be sure to keep admit card and school ID with you. Entry is not possible without admit card. Leave mobile phones, earphones, Bluetooth devices, calculators or any gadget at home. Remain calm and cooperate during the examination. Do not argue with any staff. After receiving the question paper, first read all the instructions carefully. Many times students forget to read important instructions in a hurry and commit mistakes. So students are advised not to do any such activity which may cause you to face any problem.
