If you or your children are preparing for 10th, then this news is very important for you. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a major change in the methods of class 10th board examinations from 2026. Now students will get a chance to sit twice a year in the exam. Its purpose is to reduce the pressure on the students and give them a second chance to perform better.
What is the new rule?
CBSE Examination Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj has informed that now the 10th board examination will be held in two phases in two phases and second will be held in February and second in May.
However, a special thing in this is that appearing in the first examination will be mandatory for all students. At the same time, the second exam will be completely optional. That is, if a student is not satisfied with the marks of his first attempt, then he can sit in the second exam.
Why was this decision taken?
This decision of CBSE has been taken as per the recommendations of the new National Education Policy (NEP 2020). Its purpose is to give students a flexible and stress -free environment so that they can learn from their mistakes and improve it. The board believes that the talent of a student cannot be fully evaluated by one time examination.
