Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the last date of application for Single Girl Child Scholarship 2025. Now eligible girl students can apply for this scholarship till 20 November 2025. Earlier this date was fixed as October 23, but the board has extended it and given additional time to the girl students to apply. The objective of this scholarship scheme is to encourage those girl students who are the only children in the family and who have performed excellently in their Class 10 examination.
Under this scheme, financial assistance of Rs 500 per month will be given to the selected girl students. This assistance will continue for a maximum of two years. Its objective is to provide financial assistance to girl students during their studies and to encourage their education. Tuition fees for girl students are also covered under this scheme. According to the rules of the scheme, the tuition fee can be a maximum of Rs 1,500 per month. Whereas for non-resident Indian (NRI) girl students this limit is Rs 6,000 per month.
Who can apply?
The eligibility of the student for this scholarship is based on certain conditions. First of all, it is mandatory for the student to be an Indian citizen. Additionally, the student must have passed Class 10 examination from CBSE and must be enrolled in Class 11 or 12. The student must have obtained at least 60 percent marks in class 10. Along with this, it should also be kept in mind that the student should be the only child of the family.

This scholarship is available for two years. After completing class 11, the student can renew it for one year. For renewal, it is necessary that the student has been promoted in the class and has obtained 50 percent or more marks in aggregate in the examination. This rule ensures that the student continues to perform well in studies.

The application process for girl students is completely online. For this, first of all they have to go to the official website of CBSE cbse.gov.in. After visiting the website, girl students will have to click on the ‘Apply’ link given next to “Public Information” on the main page. As soon as the student clicks on the link, she will be redirected to another page.
