The holy festival of Chaitra Navratri started on March 30 and today is Mahashtami Tithi on 5 April. On this day, people worship Virgo or Kunjan, in which 9 small girls are worshiped as the form of Maa Durga.
Apart from Ashtami Tithi, some people worship the girl on the last day of Navratri i.e. Navami Tithi. This year Navami Tithi is on 6 April 2025.
For Kanya Puja, small girls of 2-10 years of age are invited on Ashtami or Navami Tithi, their feet are washed and tilak is applied and after giving gifts, they are sent after taking blessings.
It is believed that by worshiping the girl on Navratri, the blessings of the mother fort are obtained and the communication of positive energy at home increases. But know which gifts should not be given to small girls during the girl’s worship.
Kanjas should not be given steel utensils, glass items or any harmful things. Giving these things can make Mata Rani angry.
Apart from this, avoid giving black clothes or black clothes in a gift to small girls. It is considered inauspicious to use black things in worship.
