India’s Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan has warned India’s internal stability and security environment regarding the increasing cooperation between China, Pakistan and Bangladesh. He said that coming to the interests of these three countries can create serious challenges for India.
In fact, CDS General Anil Chauhan was addressing a function organized by the Observer Research Foundation on Thursday (July 10, 2025). In his address, CDS Chauhan said, “We can talk when China, Pakistan and Bangladesh are potentially come together to fulfill their interests, which can also have a serious impact on India’s stability and security system.”
This statement of CDS has come between the deteriorating relations between India and Bangladesh after former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s overthrow. It is noteworthy that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled to India in August 2024 last year after a change of power in Bangladesh.
Iror Gave an opportunity to affect external forces- CDS
Addressing the function, CDS General Anil Chauhan attracted attention to how the Indian Ocean Region/IOR in the Indian Ocean region has given external forces a chance to increase its influence. He said, “The Indian Ocean territory (IOR) has given external forces an opportunity to establish its impact through debt diplomacy and has created many concerns for India.”
He said, “Similarly, with changing geopolitical equations and ideological perspectives in South Asia, the repeated changes of governments are also becoming a big challenge.”

Referred to military tension between India and Pakistan
General Anil Chauhan spoke about the military tension between India and Pakistan from 7 to 10 May during this period. At the same time, he said that this would hardly have happened for the first time when two nuclear weapons-armed countries came face to face in the war directly.
He said, “India had already said that it is not going to be afraid of any jackal of the nuclear attack. I think Operation Sindoor is the only example of military tension between two nuclear weapons -armed countries.”
