His father Khair has been MLA of Aligarh. His mother is the daughter of the Maharaja of Bolangir in Odisha. Chandrachud studied from Doon School.
The actor made his debut in 1996 with the film Tere Mere Sapne. After this film, she has done films like Dil Kya Kare, Maachis, Josh, Silsila Hai Pyar Ka, Daag: The Fire, Kya Kehna and Aamdani Athanni Kharcha Rupaiya. Chandrachud was doing well in his career. Chandrachud had an accident in 2000. Actually, he drowned in water in Goa. His shoulder was dislocated and he suffered many injuries. Because of this he had to undergo treatment for a long time. During this time, Chandrachud lost many films and gradually his career started coming to an end. He also tried to make a comeback in 2012. He was seen in the film Char Din Ki Chandni. But this film remained unnoticed.
After this he worked in the web series Arya in 2020. In this series, he played the role of Sushmita Sen’s husband. Since then Chandrachud is trying to take his career to greater heights again.
In 2021, he worked in the web series Dil Bakrar. In this series he was in the role of Hardik Motla. Apart from this, he was seen in Akshay Kumar’s film Katputli in 2020. In this film he was in the role of Narinder Singh.
In 2025, he was seen in the film Bayaan. This film was released at TIFF in the month of September.
