Rajshri Production founder Tarachatand Barjatya thought of increasing his business when he used to be a film distributor before the establishment of this production house. During this period, in 1943, he met SS Vasan of Gemini Pictures, one of the biggest filmmakers of Tamil cinema. These were the only ones who were making a period drama called Chandralekha.
Barjatya suggested, make a film in Hindi too
Tarachand Barjatya also persuaded him to make a Hindi film. Barjatya gets the rights of Pan India distribution
