In the meantime, former Punjab Chief Minister and Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi asked the central government on Friday (2 May 2025) to seek evidence of the surgical strike in 2016 from the central government. After attending the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting, he said, “If any bomb falls in our country, we will not know? It is said that we did a surgical strike in Pakistan, nothing happened. No surgical strikes were seen anywhere, no one came to know.”

Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi said, “I have always been asking for evidence of surgical strike. After the Pahalgam attack, the capacity of the government is being raised. Congress takes orders directly from Pak- BJP

BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari targeted the Congress fiercely after Charanjit Singh Channi’s statement. He posted on X and said, “Rahul Gandhi’s Congress continues to defend Pakistani terrorism. Now Charanjit Singh Channi is questioning our army. Why is the Congress being demolishing our army in this important time? Congress is directly taking orders from Pakistan.”

‘Congress gives award to group like Lashkar-e-Taiba’

Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) leader Shaina NC questioned his statement, saying, “If the Congress should stand with the country at this time, he is doing politics. The Congress gives an award to a group like Lashkar-e-Taiba. It is clear that this anti-national mind belongs to the Congress. They are not standing with India, they are just doing their politics.”
