MS Dhoni, who won 5 IPL trophy to Chennai Super Kings, could not play the magic of his captaincy for the team this year. In this season, under his captaincy, Chennai could not win the match even once.
Team captain Rituraj Gaikwad got out of injury after 5 matches. After this, the captaincy of the team was handed over to Dhoni. Chennai and his fans hoped that Dhoni would do amazing and turn the team’s body.
The team had lost four matches out of 5 matches before Dhoni got the captaincy. He was at the 9th position. Everyone hoped that the team would do well under Dhoni’s captaincy. Although this did not happen. Dhoni as captain could not live up to the expectations of the fans this season.

Chennai has already been ruled out of IPL 2025. Chennai has won only three matches out of 13 matches. While he has suffered defeat in 10. He is ranked 10th on the points table. His last match is from Gujarat Titans on 25 May.
