In response, he said, “It is not my job that I give a statement on someone’s retirement. I have no idea of it. I am still enjoying working with him. They are still playing well. Dhoni’s slow innings became the root of trouble
Delhi Capitals had set a target of 184 runs in front of Chennai Super Kings. The start of CSK was very poor and the team touched the 100 runs in the 15th over. Dhoni came to bat in the 11th over when Chennai needed 110 runs to win 56 balls. By that time Vijay Shankar was set on the crease and Dhoni is capable of playing a stormy innings even at the age of 43. In such a situation, Chennai should have registered an easy victory.
But after Dhoni came to batting, Chennai’s team was able to score only 84 runs in about 10 overs. Dhoni scored just 30 runs in 26 balls at a strike rate of only 115. Looking at Vijay Shankar, it seemed as if he was batting in T20. He scored 69 runs in 54 balls playing with a strike of around 128.
