Chhaava Director Laxman Utekar Reveals Once Sold Vada Pav And Eggs to Survive

Let us tell you that the life of director Laxman Utekar was full of struggles. In fact, Laxman’s career started from a small village in Raigad district of Maharashtra and came to Mumbai with his uncle at a young age.

He told on the Mamaj Count Podcast that- I was probably 4 years old when my uncle brought me to Mumbai, I started selling boiled eggs outside once at the age of 6 and later I opened a cart of Vadapav in Shivaji Park, but was confiscated by BMC.

At the same time, Laxman further told that during the Ganpati festival, many rich people did not want to get out of their cars and immerse the idol themselves. Therefore, he also did this work instead of which he used to get money. For this, he used to get 5 rupees which he used to share with his friends.

He told about his debut in films that- he got an entry in the industry from a job in the newspaper. His first task was found as a sweeper in the film studio. He also told that he used to clean the floor and toilet.

After that I worked to bring tea for people working in sound and editing studios. He told that I saw his work and realized that whatever work he was doing was very interesting and I did not go from there for many days. I never felt bored.

He liked this work so much that he decided to make a career in filmmaking. He made films like Mimi, Jara Nara Kara Bachke, Luka Chuppi, Teri Baatha Jiya, where Sharu Kahana, Dear Zindagi made films.
