Kharna is also known as Lohanda at many places. On the day of Kharna, Prasad of jaggery kheer and flour bread is prepared in the evening. First of all it is offered to Chhathi Maiya. After fasting for the whole day, the devotee offers Kharna Prasad and then starts the 36-hour Nirjala fast. Then Kharna Prasad is distributed among all the devotees and also in the neighbourhood.
