Chhath Puja bank holiday 2025: Diwali is over and the festive season is also about to end. However, today on 27th October, Chhath Mahaparva is being celebrated all over the country. Tomorrow on 28th October, the festival of Arghya will be celebrated in the morning of Chhath Mahaparva.
In such a situation, there will be a holiday in banks of many states of India today and tomorrow. If you are planning to go to the bank during these days, then you must check the list of holidays from RBI. So that you do not face any kind of problem.
Bank holiday due to Chhath Puja
Banks will remain closed in Kolkata, Patna and Ranchi due to evening Arghya on the occasion of Chhath festival. If you live in these cities, you should avoid going to the bank today. Otherwise you may face problems. On Tuesday, October 28, due to the morning Arghya of Chhath festival, all the banks of Bihar and Jharkhand states will remain closed.
That means there will be a total of 2 days holiday in the states of Bihar and Jharkhand. If you are planning to go to the bank today or tomorrow, you should cancel your plan. Digital banking services will continue in these three states as before. You will be able to use these services digitally.
Are banks closed in the capital Delhi?
RBI has not announced any holiday in banks in Delhi on account of Chhath Puja. That means, normal functioning will continue in all the banks of Delhi on 27th and 28th October.
Bank Holidays in November
There will be a bank holiday on November 1 on the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava in Bengaluru and Igas-Bagwal in Dehradun. After this, on November 5, due to Gurunanak Jayanti and Kartik Purnima, normal functioning will not be possible in banks across the country. Also, banks will remain closed on 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 November due to Sunday being a weekly holiday.
