China and Turkas also buy oil from Russia! Trump imposed 25% extra tariff and India targeted in gestures

India termed the US move to impose an additional 25 per cent of altitude on Wednesday (6 August 2025) as unfair and unfortunate. The Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement saying that India will take all necessary steps to protect its national interests. The Ministry of External Affairs said that other other countries are also purchasing oil from Russia, but America wrongly targeted India. India’s sign was about China and Turki, which buys oil from Russia and no action was taken on it.

‘Other countries are also taking such steps with national interests’

The Ministry of External Affairs said that we have already clarified our position on these issues that our import is based on market factors and is done with the overall objective of ensuring energy security of 1.4 billion people of India. The Ministry of External Affairs said, “This decision is very unfortunate because the US has opted to impose additional fees on India for such steps, which many other countries are also taking up in view of their national interests.”

China is the biggest buyer of Russian oil

The Ministry of External Affairs was a sign of countries like China and Turki, who buy a large amount of crude oil from Russia. According to reports from Center for Research on Energy and Clean Air, China bought 47 percent of the total crude oil exports of Russia in June 2025. After this, India is 38 percent, UROPIOI Union (EU) 6 percent and Turki 6 percent. The Turki is the largest buyer of oil products from Russia. It has bought 26 per cent of Russia’s oil product exports. It is 13 percent and Brazil is 12 percent located.

EU, the largest buyer of LNG gas from Russia

The European Union was the largest buyer of LNG gas from Russia. In June 2025, the European Union bought 51 per cent of Russia’s LNG exports, followed by China 21 per cent and Japan 18 per cent. EU was also the largest buyer of Russia’s pipeline gas. Its total exports were bought by EU 37 percent alone, followed by China 30 percent and Turki 27 percent.

According to the order issued by the White House, Trump cited the national security and foreign policy as well as trade laws to increase the tariff on India. It said that buying oil from Russia on behalf of India directly and indirectly pose a threat to America.
