He wrote on social media platform Truth, “I think China is deliberately not buying soybeans from us and is putting our soybean farmers in trouble, which is an economically hostile act. To take revenge, we are considering ending the transaction of cooking oil and other merchandise with China. For example, we can easily make cooking oil ourselves and do not need to buy it from China.
What is the reason for China-America dispute?
In fact, China has been the largest buyer of American soybean. According to CNBC report, it had purchased about 27 million tonnes of soybean in 2024. Its value was about $12.8 billion, but China has stopped buying American soybean from May 2025. Jinping had spread this in response to American tariffs. However, China also imposed retaliatory tax on American goods.
