All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday questioned the nationalist credentials of the ruling BJP, accusing the Center of inviting Chinese companies to invest in India even after Operation Sindoor and failing to respond to US President Donald Trump’s repeated insults. There has been no reaction yet from either the government or the BJP on Owaisi’s allegations.
Hyderabad MP Owaisi was addressing a rally organized in support of AIMIM candidates contesting in the Jalna Municipal Corporation elections to be held on January 15. His party has fielded candidates in 17 out of 65 electoral wards of the municipal body. Owaisi said that China had provided weapons to Pakistan during Operation Sindoor launched by India in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack. He claimed that about 80 percent of Pakistan’s military equipment was obtained from China.

Many Muslim youth have been in jail for years without trial: Owaisi
The AIMIM president claimed that many Muslim youth have been in jail for years without trial. He said the denial of bail is a violation of Article 21 of the Indian Constitution, which guarantees the right to life and personal liberty. Owaisi held Congress responsible for the long imprisonment of student activists Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam. He alleged that long detention without bail became possible due to the amendments made by Congress in the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
He said that after the alliance with BJP, the real face of the so-called secular parties has come to light and these parties are equally responsible for the backwardness of Dalits and Muslims.
The Lok Sabha member from Hyderabad called upon the Muslims not to remain mere voters and appealed to them to prepare their own leadership. Owaisi said, ‘They enslaved you and you were used.’
