Trump tariff: In the hope of avoiding American tariffs, Vietnam is preparing to tighten the Chinese goods being sent to America. According to a government document investigated by a person and news agency Reuters, familiar with the case, Vietnam is trying to control the export of Chinese goods.
‘Made in Vietnam’ label on Chinese goods
Earlier, the Trade Advisor of the White House Peter Navaro also expressed concern about the Chinese goods being sent to the US with the ‘Made in Vietnam’ label in Vietnam as there is less tariff on exports from here. US President Donald Trump has imposed 46 percent tariff on Vietnam.
Meanwhile, Trump has given relief from tariffs to the rest of the world except China for 90 days. After the meeting between the Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister with the US trade representative on Wednesday, the two countries agreed to talk on tariffs.
Vietnam expects tariff cuts
According to three people who are aware of this case, Vietnam is expecting tariff in the range of 22-28 percent. On Thursday, while announcing the start of trade with the US, the Vietnam government said on its official portal that the trade fraud will be tightened.
