The discussion about who will be the next CM of Bihar after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is going on in full swing. On one hand, many names are being discussed and on the other hand, the rhetoric in the political circles is also intense. Last Monday (March 23, 2026), Union Minister Chirag Paswan had made it clear that it has been decided who will be the next CM and it will be announced very soon. It was also said that he is not in the race for CM. Now Congress has retaliated on Chirag Paswan’s statement.
Issuing a statement on Tuesday (March 24, 2026), Bihar Congress spokesperson Dr. Snehasish Vardhan said that ever since the Bharatiya Janata Party has snatched the keys of power from the hands of Nitish Kumar, doubts are being continuously created about Nitish Kumar regarding that post. The Congress leader claimed that who will be the successor of Nitish Kumar will not be decided in the NDA meeting but by the order issued from Delhi.

‘There is no one to listen to Chirag Paswan’
Snehashish Vardhan said that no matter how many NDA meetings are held, only the envelope sent from Delhi will work. A puppet CM is going to sit in Bihar and he will be from BJP, hence no matter how much voice Chirag Paswan raises, no one is going to listen.
‘It was essential for Nitish Kumar to be elected president’
On the other hand, it was also announced on Tuesday that Nitish Kumar will be the national president of JDU. He was elected unopposed. In such a situation, the Congress spokesperson also reacted regarding the post of National President of JDU. He said that it was necessary for Nitish Kumar to be elected president to keep the Janata Dal United, trapped in the clutches of BJP, united. Now that he is the President, at least the leaders under him will not be able to make a deal with BJP.
