Recently, in a special conversation with Pinkvilla, actress Pooja Ruparel shared many interesting things related to the sets of ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’. In her interview, Haseena also talked about the producer of this film, Yash Chopra. Pooja Ruparel told that Yash Chopra was a father figure for everyone on the set. The producer’s behavior with everyone was exactly like a father. He revealed an interesting incident that happened on the set.
Talking about it, he said, ‘He is definitely a papa type and has spoiled everyone. Once Kajol had requested for ice cream and at that time Baskin Robbins had just opened in India and was very expensive at that time. We used to go there just for free tasting and then became happy with Amul. But that day, big tubs were arriving at lunch time. On one of Kajol’s requests, Yash Chopra fulfilled her wish just like his father. Pooja Ruparel told that Yash Chopra used to pamper everyone on the set like a father.
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge completes 30 years
This romantic film starring Shahrukh Khan and Kajol was released in theaters on 20 October 1995. Made on a budget of just Rs 4 crore, this film collected Rs 53.5 crore at the Indian box office and made a profit of 1225% for its makers.
Aditya Chopra made his directorial debut through this film. His father Yash Chopra was the producer of this film.
Apart from Kajol and Shahrukh Khan, stars like Pooja Ruparel, Amrish Puri, Anupam Kher, Farida Jalal, late actor Satish Shah, Mandira Bedi and Parmeet Sethi played important roles in the film.
