At present, the command of this force is currently in the hands of senior officer Rajwinder Singh Bhatti. He held the post of Director General (DG) of CISF on 28 August 2024. They will remain on this post till 30 September 2025, after which they will retire. Rajwinder Singh Bhatti is a 1990 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and he comes from Bihar cadre. In his service experience of more than three decades, he has served in many important positions.
CISF DG’s current salary
Currently, the Director General of CISF gets salary under the Seventh Pay Commission. The post of DG is equivalent to an All India Service Officer (IPS), which falls in Pay Level 17 or Secretary Level (Level 17 – APEX Scale). In this scale, he gets a fixed salary of about Rs 2,25,000 per month. There is no grade pay in it, because it is one of the highest pay levels. Apart from this, they also get government accommodation, vehicles, drivers, staff and other facilities.

What can be expected from the 8th Pay Commission?
If the government implements the 8th Pay Commission, then it is expected that keeping in mind inflation and expenses, the salary of all central employees can increase by 20% to 30%. If this percentage applies to CISF DG salary, then their salary can increase from 2.25 lakh to 2.70 lakh to 2.90 rupees lakh per month.
