The tension between Pakistan and Afghanistan is showing no signs of ending. There was a clash between the armies of the two countries once again on the Chaman border on Monday (January 19, 2026). According to the information, this clash between Pakistani and Afghan armies first started with firing in Kila Saifullah sector at around 3 pm. Shortly after this, the Pakistan Army attacked the Afghan Army post near Chaman border through attack drones.
Neither Pakistan nor Afghanistan has yet issued an official statement regarding the military clash between the armies of the two countries on the Chaman border. Along with this, the number of people injured or killed in mutual firing and drone strike by Pakistani Army has also not been revealed.
Military clashes have taken place several times in 2025
Relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan have remained tense since the border clashes in October last year. At the same time, in the month of December, tension between the two countries had increased again. There was a massive firing incident between the armies of the two countries on the Chaman border on December 5, 2025. Regarding this incident, Afghan officials had said that four Afghan civilians were killed in heavy firing from Pakistan.
According to the report of Pakistani newspaper Dawn, Pakistani officials had accused the Afghan army of this incident. Pakistani officials had alleged that the Afghan army had fired mortars in Badani area.
Had accused each other of attacking first
Pakistan and Afghanistan have been continuously accusing each other of attacking first. Afghan Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid had alleged that Pakistan had attacked Spin Boldak first. He claimed that Afghan security forces had retaliated.
