Clouds of crisis surround PAK-Afghan peace talks! Tension increased on the border, 5 Pakistani soldiers died

Violence has once again erupted between Pakistan and Afghanistan. 5 Pakistani soldiers and 25 terrorists have been killed in the latest attacks near the Afghan border. This clash took place at a time when delegations from both the countries were holding peace talks in Istanbul to reduce tension.

Attempt to infiltrate from across the border
The Pakistani Army claimed that on Friday and Saturday, terrorist groups from Afghanistan tried to enter the Pakistani border. The infiltration took place in the Kurram and North Waziristan districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which are extremely difficult mountainous areas and have long been considered the center of terrorist activities.

Pakistani army expressed displeasure
Pakistan’s military media wing told Reuters that ‘questions are now being raised on the intentions of the Afghan government whether it is serious about stopping terrorism from its soil or not.’ The army said that recent incidents have ‘damaged the trust between the two countries’.

Warning of ‘open war’
A day before this, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif had said that ‘if there is no agreement in the Istanbul talks, it could turn into open war.’ He expressed hope that Afghanistan wants peace, but recent events have made the situation tense again.

No response came from Taliban
The Afghan Taliban government has not yet given any official response to Pakistan’s allegations. However, in earlier statements the Taliban had said that ‘Pakistan’s attacks are a violation of Afghan sovereignty’ and rejected allegations of harboring terrorists.

The worst clash after 2021
This is being said to be the biggest conflict on the Pak-Afghan border after the return of Taliban to power in 2021. Many civilians have also died in the clashes. The conflict started with the blasts in Kabul, which the Taliban government blamed on Pakistan. In response, Pakistan carried out air strikes across the border.

This entire controversy came to light at a time when a Taliban delegation was on a visit to India. Experts say that this situation is not only a threat to the security of South Asia, but can also affect India’s diplomatic strategy, because Pakistan is now trying to increase pressure on Taliban.
