The 2023 hit film ‘The Kerala Story’ was awarded the National Film Award at Best Cinematography Catigiri and Best Direction Category. In such a situation, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has been enraged on the National Film Award Jury. He has described it as insulting a state which has always been against communal forces.

CM Pinarayi Vijayan has posted on social media platform X. He wrote in it- ‘With a clear intention of tarnishing the image of Kerala and sowing the seeds of communal hatred, the Jury of the National Film Awards has given validity to a plot contained in the divisive ideology of the Sangh Parivar by honoring a film which has spread a film. ,

‘This decision has been dishonor …’
Chief Minister Vijayan further wrote- ‘Kerala, the land which has always been a symbol of harmony and resistance against communal forces, has been insulted by this decision. Not only Malayali, but all those who believe in democracy should raise their voice to protect the truth and our constitutional values.

Budget and collection of ‘The Kerala Story’

  • The Kerala Story has been directed by Sudipto Sen. The film has also been awarded the National Award for direction.
  • Ada Sharma is in the lead role in ‘The Kerala Story’. The film was released on May 5, 2023, which collected a collection at the box office.
