Up news: The construction work of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s Dream Project International Film City can start from the month of June. The film city city is being developed on about 1000 acres of land in Sector-21 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) region, which will be the largest and state-of-the-art Film City in North India. The purpose of this ambitious project is to provide a new identity in the fields of film production, media, entertainment and tourism to Uttar Pradesh.

In the first phase of the project, work will start on 230 acres of land, with 13-14 modern film studios and a film institute spread over 3 lakh square meters at a cost of about ₹ 1510 crore. The company selected for the construction work BayView Projects LLP, which is the company of filmmaker Boney Kapoor, has completed all the preparations. GM Rajiv Arora of the company said that the geo-technical survey is almost complete, and the building plan will be submitted in 2-3 days. Construction work will be started as soon as all approval is received. Its foundation stone will be laid by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself.

Yogi government’s dream will come true

The master plan of Film City has been approved on 30 January 2025. On 27 June 2024, the convention agreement between Yeida and BayView Projects has been signed and the right to the site has been entrusted to the company on 27 February 2025. The project will be expanded in three phases (phase) and a target is to be completed in eight years.

Employment and tourism will get a boost

This film city will create a large scale investment and employment prospects in the field of film industry, post-production, animation, visual effects, media startups and film education in the state. Also, this project will also become a medium to recognize the cultural heritage and tourism of the state in the country and the world.

The aim of the UP government through Film City is to develop the state as a national and international film making hub on the lines of Mumbai and Hyderabad. Over the years, the state government has attracted investors with events like ‘One District One Product’, ‘Uttar Pradesh Defense Corridor’, ‘Global Investors Summit’ and now Film City will be another big achievement in this direction.

State image will get new dimension

The Film City being built on the Yamuna Expressway is not just an infrastructure project but the Yogi government’s attempt to connect Uttar Pradesh with the vision of ‘New India’. While this project will provide a state -of -the -art hub for shooting and production, filmmakers will also open new opportunities for film education and technical training for the youth. Thus, this dream project of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath can prove to be a decisive step towards getting Uttar Pradesh as the country’s capital capital in the coming years.
