Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday compared the air quality index (AQI) of the national capital Delhi to a “gas chamber”, saying that despite the rapid development in the state, there is no “suffocating atmosphere”. Yogi Adityanath said that the degree of the state’s first Forestry and Horticulture University, which is going to be built in Campierganj, will guarantee jobs for the youth.

In a program organized in Gorakhpur, Adityanath said that the biggest challenge facing the world today is environmental degradation. He said, “You see how good the environment is here, there is no pollution. If there is no pollution, there is no disease. Whenever there is pollution, it will also harm the lungs. If the machine supplying oxygen gets damaged, the whole body will get damaged.

There is a gas chamber in Delhi- CM Yogi

While addressing the inauguration ceremony of the rebuilt Development Officer office in Jungle Kauria development block of Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister drew attention towards the air quality in Delhi. He said, “You go to Delhi.” What is the condition? It looks like there is a gas chamber there. The condition is bad. You will not be able to breathe air and your eyes will feel irritated. The doctors there say that those suffering from asthma and other diseases, the elderly and children, should not go out of the house. Is this life?

Adityanath said that whenever there is any tampering with the environment, a similar situation will arise. He said, “We are lucky that there is development here, but there is no suffocating environment.”

According to Central Pollution Control Board data, the AQI of the national capital Delhi was recorded at 214 at 9 am on Saturday, which falls in the “poor” category. According to an official statement, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the degree of the state’s first Forestry and Horticulture University, which is going to be built in Campierganj, will guarantee jobs for the youth.

He said that there will be vast employment opportunities in the country and the world for the youth coming out of this university with degrees and diplomas. Besides, this university will also play an important role in increasing the income of Annadata farmers. Discussing the development of the state and Gorakhpur after 2017, the Chief Minister said that when intentions are clear, results come automatically. Due to the efforts made in the right direction, today the fertilizer factory has become operational in Gorakhpur.

CM remembered former block chief late Rampati Yadav

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also respectfully remembered the former block chief of Jangal Kauria, late Rampati Yadav. He said that Rampati Yadav, who was associated with Gorakshpeeth since 1952, became the head of Jangal Kauria in 1962 and only then this block headquarters was established. He served the people for a long time with decency and ease.
