Celina Jaitley and her estranged husband, Austrian hotelier Peter Haag, appeared before the Metropolitan Magistrate’s court in Andheri on Friday, where the court directed both the parties to file affidavits regarding their income by January 27. The court had also asked Hague to file his reply on Jaitley’s domestic violence (DV) complaint. These directions were issued by the actress during the first hearing of the case filed under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act in November.
How much compensation did Celina Jaitley ask for?
According to Hindustan Times, Celina Jaitley, who is represented by Karanjawala & Company, has alleged continuous physical, verbal and emotional abuse during their 15-year marriage. He has demanded Rs 100 crore as compensation and Rs 10 lakh as monthly maintenance. Let us tell you that the couple got married in Mumbai in 2010 and during Haag’s foreign assignment they lived in Mumbai, Dubai, Singapore and Austria.
‘Financial independence not given’
In her petition, Jaitley claims that she was “deprived of financial independence and dignity” by her estranged husband through years of coercive control. She has alleged that her husband Haag imposed restrictions on her professional work and due to this she was not able to earn and Haag made her financially dependent on himself.

Jaitley has also accused Hague of financial embezzlement, saying her estranged husband withdrew money from her bank accounts, used her debit and credit cards under the pretext of paying her bills, and controlled her documents and passport. A key point of contention is the 2019 gift deed under which the actress’s Mumbai flat was transferred to Haag. Jaitley has claimed that this deed was executed when she was mentally weak and has alleged that Haag later rented out the property without his knowledge, earning around Rs 1.26 crore. The petition further alleges that Haag sold the property they jointly purchased in Vienna without informing her, and that Haag’s abuse increased after the family moved to a small village in Austria.
Divorce case going on in Austria also
Like Mumbai, the divorce case of Haag and Celina is also going on in Austria. Haag had filed for divorce in an Austrian court this year, reportedly blaming Jaitley for the breakdown of her marriage. His legal team has said that the Austrian court has recently allowed Jaitley to talk to the children on the phone for an hour a day, whereas earlier Haag had reportedly cut off contact with the children for some time. Jaitley has claimed in his domestic violence petition that he has been prevented from having contact with his children since the legal action was initiated in India.
Next hearing on 27 January
The Mumbai court has asked to clear the financial conditions of both the parties before considering interim relief. The next hearing of the case will be on January 27, when the court will review the affidavit and hear Jaitley’s interim application.
