Actor Ranveer Singh is in controversies. He was trolled for copying the divine scene from the film Kantara. Now a Bangalore based lawyer has filed a complaint against Ranveer.
Complaint filed against Ranveer Singh
The lawyer has lodged a complaint at High Grounds Police Station. He has accused Ranveer Singh of insulting the traditional Tulu puja practice shown in the film Kantara.
Ranveer Singh accused of hurting religious sentiments
According to the complaint, the actor allegedly copied Panjurli/Guliga Daiva. The lawyer claims that this performance was rude and insulting. Which hurt Hindu religious sentiments, especially among the Tulu speaking community.
According to PTI, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) had filed a police complaint against Ranveer Singh on Monday. It is alleged that Ranveer insulted Goddess Chamundadevi during the closing ceremony of the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) held in Goa. According to the complaint, Ranveer had imitated the divine form of the deity shown in the Kannada film ‘Kanthara – Chapter 1’ on stage and had called the Chamundi deity revered in the Kotitulu community as a “female ghost”.

Ranveer Singh apologized
Let us tell you that Ranveer had praised Rishabh Shetty at IFFI held in Goa. He had praised Rishabh’s film Kantara. During this, he imitated the God scene of the film and called God a ghost. After which he has come into controversies. Seeing the controversy increasing, Ranveer Singh had also apologized.
Ranveer Singh wrote, ‘My intention was to highlight the amazing work of Rishabh Shetty in the film Kantara: Chapter 1. Being an actor, I know how much hard work and training would have gone into doing that scene. Especially the way Rishabh performed it. For this he was greatly appreciated. I have always respected all the cultures of our country. If I have hurt anyone, I sincerely apologize.
