Holi Stock Market Holiday: There is some confusion among investors regarding the trading day regarding Holi. This year the festival of colors will be celebrated on March 4, but the stock market holiday is going to be a day earlier. According to the holiday calendar, a holiday has been declared on March 3.
That means there will be no trading in both Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) today on Tuesday. Stock markets will remain closed the whole day…
Equity market closed on March 3, commodity trading in the evening
There will be no trading in the stock market on March 3 and the equity segment will remain closed for the whole day. However, there will be partial trading in the commodity market. Morning session will not run in Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), but evening session will be open from 5 pm to 11:55 pm. That means investors will be able to make deals in the commodity segment in the evening.
Normal trading will take place on March 4
Normal trading will take place on Wednesday, March 4. On this day there will be trading in the equity segment throughout the day. Both BSE and NSE will remain open. Investors will be able to trade in the market as per normal days.
When will the stock market be closed this year?
Apart from Holi, the stock market is going to remain closed on many other occasions. There will be no business due to Ram Navami on 26th March, Shri Mahavir Jayanti on 31st March and Good Friday on 3rd April. After this, the market will also remain closed on Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti on 14th April and Maharashtra Day on 1st May.
There will be no trading on the occasion of Bakrid on 28th May, Muharram on 26th June and Ganesh Chaturthi on 14th September. The stock markets are going to remain closed on Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October, Dussehra on 20th October, Diwali on 10th November, Prakash Guru Parva Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on 24th November and Christmas on 25th December.
