Congress meeting: A day before the Congress session, on Tuesday (April 08, 2025), the party’s highest policy -making unit Working Committee (CWC) churned the future outline, the strengthening of the organization, including strengthening, deciding and preparing for the upcoming assembly elections. In this meeting of the Extended Working Committee, proposals related to the session were discussed.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, party parliamentary party chief Sonia Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal, General Secretary KC Venugopal, General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, Mukul Wasnik, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee President Shakti Singh Gohil and many other senior leaders attended a meeting held at ‘Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Memorial’ of Ahmedabad, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Mukul Wasnik, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee President Shakti Singh Gohil and many other senior leaders.
Which other leaders attended the meeting?
Other members of the Working Committee, President of State Congress committees, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Congress Legislature Party leader and former Chief Minister also attended this meeting.
After the working committee meeting, there will be a session on April 9. This session of the party in Gujarat is taking place after 64 years. The theme of this session will be ‘Justice Path: Sankalp, Dedication, Struggle’.
Party sources say that through this session, it will be decided to increase the powers of the District Congress Committees (DCC), to intensify the work of organization creation, fix the election preparations and the accountability of the officials. The top leaders of the party, member of the functioning committee, senior leaders and members of the All India Committee will attend the session.

Targeting the BJP and RSS, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, “They are spreading confusion about the relationship between Sardar Patel and Nehru. Nehru, Gandhi and Sardar Patel have played an important role in providing freedom to the country and Navnirman. Apart from this, he said that the way the demands of the farmers are being conceived. He is an insult to Patel.

On the absence of Priyanka Gandhi in the meeting, Mallikarjun Kharge said that Priyanka had sought permission from the Congress President, not to be present in Parliament and the session. Some programs abroad were already decided. That is why they are not present. Apart from him, there were not many people, it is not right to question any one.
