Congress has released the 5th list of candidates for Assam Assembly elections. Names of seven candidates have been announced in this list. Among the 7 seats on which the Congress party has fielded its candidates for the Assam assembly elections, Joseph Hasda from Gossaingaon assembly seat, Birkhang Boro from Dotma ST reserved seat, Rajat Kanti Saha from Bijni, Anchula Gwara Daimari from Bhergaon, Narayan Adhikari from Majbat, Nirmal Langthasa from Haflong ST reserved seat and Amar Chand Jain from Katigora assembly seat have been appointed.
Four lists of names of Congress candidates have been released.
Congress Party has already released four lists of names of candidates for the Assam Assembly elections. After this, the party has announced the names of candidates for 7 assembly seats today on Sunday (March 22, 2026). Congress shared a post on social media platform X saying that the Central Election Committee of Congress has selected 7 candidates for the elections to be held in Assam next month on April 9, 2026.

Congress gave seats to left parties
Congress has announced the list of names of its party candidates for the assembly elections in the state as well as the seats to be given to its ally Left parties in Assam. Congress had released the fourth list of its candidates two days ago on Friday (March 20, 2026). The party announced the names of its 7 candidates in the list. With this, Congress made public the information about 11 seats given to the Left.
The Congress party has given Manas, Dalgaon, Dhing, Kaliabor, Tezpur, Sissibargaon, Margherita, Digboi, Sibsagar, Mariani and Bokakhat assembly seats of Assam to the Left parties to contest the elections. Whereas Assam Congress state president and Lok Sabha MP Gaurav Gogoi himself is going to contest elections from Jorhat assembly seat of the state.
