The Congress demonstrated at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Tuesday (July 22) to demand the full state status of Jammu and Kashmir. Congress General Secretary (Organization) KC Venugopal, Congress in-charge Nasir Hussain and Jammu and Kashmir Congress chief Tariq Hameed Karra attended the demonstration.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah targeted this demonstration. It is interesting that the Congress is supporting the Omar Abdullah government in Jammu and Kashmir.

Omar Abdullah’s stake on Congress

Omar Abdullah said on the performance, “First talk to us. Nobody talked to us. Recently, India coalition met, mentioning it in it, then why would we have retreated, first of all we raised this issue.

He said, “We passed the proposal in the cabinet. We brought the proposal in the assembly. The second thing is that due to the situation, it could not be debated. We pledged this, it is a good thing that he remembered after so many days. If they want our support in this, then talk to us. Our companions will also join it. ”

  • Congress made an issue to demand the status of full state status to Jammu and Kashmir
  • Congress demonstrated at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, demand to fulfill promises
  • Omar Abdullah said on the performance of Congress- no one talked to us

After the demonstration, CC Venugopal wrote on X, “The case of converting Jammu and Kashmir in the Union Territory is the first such example in the country when the status of a state has been reduced. This is a serious degradation of democracy and an insult to the people of the state. The promises made in Parliament should be fulfilled now without delay. ‘

Rahul Gandhi wrote a letter to PM Modi

Let me tell you that last week Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding a law in the monsoon session of Parliament regarding the status of the state.

Article 370 was removed from Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019. Also, Jammu and Kashmir was divided into two union territories Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Now along with the ruling National Conference and Congress, opposition parties are also demanding full state status.

These parties made the status of full state a big issue at the time of assembly elections. At the same time, on many occasions, the central government has said that Jammu and Kashmir will be given full state status at the right time.
