BJP MP from Saran in Bihar, Rajiv Pratap Rudy maintained his dominance in the election club of India elections for more than 25 years.

Officials said that in the election held on Tuesday (July 12), all the members of Rudy’s panel won except one. The club usually consists of elections for the posts of Secretary (Administration), Secretary (Sports), Secretary (Culture), Treasurer and 11 Executive Member.

Congress leader Rajiv Shukla was already elected unopposed to the post of Secretary (Sports) after withdrawing the nomination of BJP Rajya Sabha MP Pradeep Kumar Verma. Similarly, DMK MP Thiruchi Shiva won the post of Secretary (Culture) after withdrawing the nomination of former BJP MP Pradeep Gandhi.

The post of treasurer was also unopposed. Actually, former MP of Bharat Rashtra Samithi A.K. P. Jitendra Reddy withdrew nominations. After this, DMK MP P. Wilson won.

Which parties do 11 leaders belong to?

Members of BJP, Congress, Samajwadi Party and Trinamool Congress were involved in the panel of Rajiv Pratap Rudy. The members selected in the 11-member executive committee include four members of BJP, two of Congress, SP, TMC, RSP, BJD and one each of Shiv Sena.

Among the 11 leaders, Naresh Aggarwal (BJP), Prasoon Banerjee (TMC), Pradeep Gandhi (BJP), Naveen Jindal (BJP), Deepender Singh Hooda (Congress), N. Of. Premchandran (RSP), Pradeep Kumar Verma (BJP), Jasbir Singh Gill (Congress), Kalikesh Narayan Singh Dev (BJD), Srirang Appa Baran (Shiv Sena) and Akshay Yadav (SP) are included.

How many votes did Rajiv Pratap Rudy get?

Rudy defeated Jat leader Sanjeev Balyan of his own party by 100 votes in the election of the post of secretary. The special thing was that in this election, veterans like Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former president Sonia Gandhi voted.

The ex -officio Speaker of the Constitution Club of India is the Lok Sabha Speaker, but the Secretary plays an important role in its executive functioning. Rajiv Pratap Rudy got 391 votes, while Balyan got 291 votes. Officials said that out of the total voters of 1,295 current and former MPs, more than 680 valid votes were cast, which is one of the highest voting in the election of club officials so far.

The club, built for MPs in the 1940s, has conference room, coffee club and an outdoor cafe. Along with the lounge for MPs, there is also billiards room, gym, unisex salon and swimming pool.

After the victory, Rajiv Pratap Rudy said, “This is a wonderful victory of all MPs and all of those who came to vote and supported the team’s untiring efforts for the last two decades, this is a great experience.”

Election made a lot of headlines

In this contest of BJP vs BJP, opposition IDIA coalition member Rudy was seen united, while Balyan was promoted by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey. Balian received more support from BJP members. However, some of them also voted for the current officer Rudy.

The election of the club this time caused trends and many news on social media. Rudy’s personal engagement, his relations with Bihar and ethnic equations were also important, especially because his rival Sanjeev Balyan was not seen taking special interest in the work of the club earlier. Balyan Modi has been a minister in the cabinet.

Interestingly, during the campaign, both the candidates avoided the controversy, but words like ‘Thakur vs Jat’ and ‘BJP vs BJP’ continued to be used.

Nishikant Dubey’s big gesture

Nishikant Dubey indicated that Rudy got support from opposition parties. Dubey said that Balyan’s strength was the effect that Sonia Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge came to vote.

He claimed that when Jayaprakash Aggarwal of Congress contested against Rudy in 2005 and 2010, neither Gandhi nor any minister of the then UPA government voted.

A club official said that before this election, Rudy had never faced an election challenge, as he was the then Lok Sabha Speaker G. MC Balayogi nominated this post. After this, elections started in 2009 for the posts.

Trinamool Congress MP Sagarika Ghosh claimed on X about the election results that Amit Shah and BJP President J.K. Candidates supported by P. Nadda, with whom Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Kiren Rijiju and some governors also voted.
