Countries With Most Enemies: In today’s broken global system, the idea of a single enemy no longer applies to multiple countries. Many countries are finding themselves surrounded by many enemies at the same time. These countries are at the center of global instability where conflict extends across borders and regions. Let us know about those countries which have the most enemies.
Russia
Russia is one of the most geopolitically isolated countries in the world. Its war with Ukraine has entered its fifth year and has turned into a protracted conflict. Apart from Ukraine, Russia is also effectively in conflict with the NATO alliance. Although NATO is not directly at war with Moscow, Russia considers the alliance’s 32 member states as enemies. These 32 countries include America, Britain, Poland and Baltic countries. Not only this, but the increasing tension in the Arctic and Eastern Europe has further increased the number of Russia’s enemies.

Israel is perhaps facing its most active enemies. Israel is embroiled in conflict on many fronts. Israeli forces are continuing operations against Hamas in Gaza. On the northern front, clashes with Hezbollah in Lebanon remain intense. Israel regularly conducts airstrikes on Iranian-related targets in Syria. Meanwhile, Yemen’s Houthi rebels have targeted Israeli-related shipping in the Red Sea.
United States of America
The United States faces a growing list of enemies across multiple continents. Tension with Venezuela has increased rapidly. There is tension with Russia over Ukraine, China over Taiwan and trade, Iran over the Middle East and North Korea over nuclear weapons. Relations with Mexico have also become tense due to US threats of military action against drug cartels.
China
China’s conflicts are mostly strategic. But the number of enemies of China is very high. Taiwan still remains the center of major conflict. Here China is conducting large-scale military exercises to prove its claims. China has been engaged in repeated maritime confrontations with the Philippines and Japan in the South China Sea. Not only this, the United States, Australia, India and many countries of Southeast Asia see Beijing as their main strategic challenge. Although China has not fought any declared war, it is constantly involved in military and diplomatic confrontations.

Iran rarely fights wars directly. But Iran remains in indirect conflict with Israel and the United States by supporting Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis. Due to increasing tensions after the regional war of 2025, Iran’s tension with Western powers and Gulf countries has increased even more. Its influence in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen puts it at the center of a vast network of enemies and counter-alliances.
Sudan
Sudan is one of the saddest cases on this list. The country is not only fighting foreign enemies but is also embroiled in a brutal civil war between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces. Regional players have indirectly participated in this conflict. Neighboring countries are being accused of supporting different groups.
