The court has given its verdict in the Bhadarsa gangrape case of Ayodhya. The court honorably acquitted Samajwadi Party leader Moeed Khan due to lack of evidence, while convicted his servant Raju Khan and sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment. Along with this, a fine of Rs 50,000 has also been imposed on the culprit Raju Khan.
This case was registered on 29 July 2024 in Purakalandar police station. The whole matter came to light after the minor girl became pregnant, after which the police registered a case under serious sections and started investigation. The hearing of this case was going on in the POCSO court and other evidence including DNA was presented in the court.
DNA test of both Moeed Khan and his servant Raju Khan was done regarding this matter. According to the report presented in the court, Moeed Khan’s DNA test was found negative, while Raju Khan’s DNA test was found positive. On this basis, the court found Raju Khan guilty and sentenced him, while Moeed Khan was acquitted.
However, despite being acquitted by the court, Moeed Khan will not be able to come out of jail for the time being. Action is already registered against him under the Gangster Act, due to which there is a legal hurdle in his release. It is noteworthy that after this matter came to light, the administration had also taken action against the properties of Moeed Khan. Action was taken to remove illegal construction by running bulldozers on his bakery establishment and shopping complex.
On the issue of acquittal of Ayodhya rape accused Moeed Khan, Ayodhya MP Awadhesh Prasad had said that it was an attempt to defame the Samajwadi Party, now the truth has come to light. The government and administration should rebuild the houses that have been demolished.
