Covid vaccine is beneficial for kidney disease: The University of California-Loss Angeles (UCLA) released a new research report on Friday (June 13). According to this research, the patients who had a covid vaccine and they had acute kidney injury or kidney related disease during Corona, their condition was better than patients without vaccine.
No dialysis needed after the vaccine is applied
Researcher, in research, found that patients who had already had a vaccine of Corona, had less dialysis after being discharged from the hospital. They were more likely to save their lives than not taking vaccine.
Acute kidney injury (AKI) is quite common among people infected with Corona. According to research, about 46 percent of patients may have this problem. This disease can reduce kidney work, if it becomes more serious, then the patient may also need dialysis. Till now, doctors did not fully understand what effect it has on the upcoming life of patients who have both Corona and AKI.
The risk of death also reduced after the vaccine is imposed
The result of this research published in the peer-review Journal kidney medicine shows that the installation of a covid vaccine reduces the risk of decreasing strength in patients who had accepted during corona and also reduce the risk of death.
Dr. Nilofar Nobakht, Associate Professor and Principal of Medicine at David Gafen School of Medicine at UCLA, said, “Kovid vaccine is an essential solution that can reduce the risk of serious complications in patients with AKIs.”
Why is it beneficial to install covid vaccine?
Nobakht further said, “People should talk to their doctor and understand why it is beneficial to get a covid vaccine. Because getting the vaccine reduces the risk of dialysis required. It is an important step for a long and better life.”
The researcher analyzed about 3,500 patients who were hospitalized between 1 March 2020 and 30 March 2022 due to Kovid. Out of those patients, 972 patients had an AKI problem. Out of these, 411 patients (about 42 per cent) did not apply vaccine, and 467 patients (about 48 per cent) had at least 2 doses of fijer or modern vaccine, or a dose of Johnson & Johnson.
What is CRRT?
Nobakht found that 65 patients (15.8 per cent) with 65 without vaccine needed a special type of dialysis called kidney replacement therapy (CRRT), while only 51 vaccine patients (10.9 per cent) needed CRRT. Explain that CRRT is a dialysis process that is given to very seriously ill patients, especially in ICU.
Research also found that patients who did not get the vaccine, those patients were required by CRRT after being discharged from the hospital, 2.56 times more, the risk of dying in the hospital was 5.54 times higher, and the risk of death was 4.78 times higher than vaccinated patients.
