The cricket world has once again become embarrassed due to the match fixing incident. This time an incident of match fixing has come to light in Indian domestic cricket. On Friday, Assam Cricket Association Secretary Sanatan Das told the media that four players have been suspended with immediate effect. The names of these four players are Amit Sinha, Ishan Ahmed, Aman Tripathi and Abhishek Thakuri.

Sanatan Das told that these 4 players were involved in corruption related activities in cricket. This matter is of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025.

Assam Cricket Association (ACA) Secretary Sanatan Das said in his statement, “These 4 cricketers, who have represented Assam at different levels. These 4 players are accused of influencing and instigating some players who played for Assam in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025. As soon as these allegations came to light, the Anti-Corruption Unit of BCCI investigated the matter. ACA has also started criminal proceedings.”

ACA said that it has also lodged an FIR in the Crime Branch of Guwahati against four players involved in match fixing. Meanwhile, according to Times of India, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia has warned the players involved in such activities. Saikia clearly said that such actions will not be tolerated at all.

Assam team was placed in Elite Group A of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. India’s star cricketer Ryan Parag also plays in this team. The Assam team could register only three wins in 7 matches and stood 7th among the eight teams included in its group. Let us tell you that among the four players whose names came up in the match fixing case, none of them were part of Assam’s squad in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
