Cril Warns of Over 20 Fake Crypto Wallet Apps on Google Play Stealing Information All Details

If you also manage your crypto wallet from the mobile app, then this news is very important for you. The new report of Cyble Research & Intelligence Labs (Cril) revealed that more than 20 such fake apps were present on Google Play Store, which looked like real crypto wallets but actually designed to steal the data and funds of the user. According to CRIL, these apps look like popular wallets such as Sushiswap, Pancakeswap and Hyperliquid, but these included codes that used to steal the 12 -word recovery frame of users.

Report It has been told that as soon as the user installs and open these fake apps, the app used to take them on a fake interface and ask for a seed frame from them. As soon as the user records this information, he was sent to the hackers’ server and the entire access of the user’s wallet would go into his hands. These apps were uploaded in the name of real developer, so that both presence and trust on the play store remain. CRIL says that a complete cyber operation was working behind these apps.

Google has currently removed most of these apps from the Play Store, but the report clearly stated that the danger is not completely averted. Users have been advised to carefully check the information of its developer, review and permission of the app before downloading any app. The most important thing, if any app asks you a seed phrase, then understand that it is fake. Any real crypto wallet app never needs a seed frame.

Cyber security agencies are also in alert mode after this report by CRIL. If you have recently installed a new crypto wallet app, it would be better if you check it immediately and remove it when needed. Also keep the Play Protect on and confirm the safety of your wallet again.
