In every season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), only one question resonates the most, “Will Dhoni play this time?” Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni surprises his fans every time he comes out to play in a yellow jersey. Now, considering his age and fitness in the coming season, it is believed that IPL 2026 could be Dhoni’s last season. In such a situation, the biggest question before CSK is, who will take charge of the team after ‘Thala’?
Now it seems that Chennai has got the answer and it is Urvil Patel. This young wicketkeeper-batsman has recently won the hearts of fans with one of his viral videos, in which he is seen showing lightning speed behind the stumps just like Dhoni.
Dhoni’s style seen in the video
Urvil Patel shared a video on his Instagram, in which he is seen reacting behind the wicket like Dhoni used to do in his prime days. In the video, on the delivery of the bowler, the batsman is out of the crease for just a moment and only those few seconds were enough time! Urvil took the wicket by blowing the bails in the blink of an eye.
Along with the video, Urvil wrote, “Didn’t learn from books… Learnt from the legend himself – Thala”. Fans liked this style so much that the video went viral within no time.
CSK also praised
The official Instagram account of Chennai Super Kings itself liked this video and wrote in the comment. He wrote, “Top work!”. Since then, the discussion about Urvil has intensified among the fans.
