Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a major update of CTET February 2026. The board has started the online application process for the examination this time by issuing an official notification on 27 November 2025. Lakhs of candidates across the country, who are dreaming of becoming teachers from class 1 to 8, will now be able to apply online from 27 November to 18 December 2025. This examination is conducted to determine eligibility for teacher recruitment and its certificate is valid in many schools including Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas.
The CTET exam will be held on 8 February 2026 in offline mode in two shifts at different examination centers across the country. Paper-II will be conducted from 9:30 am to 12 noon, while Paper-I will be conducted from 2:30 pm to 5 pm. The duration of both the papers will be 2 hours 30 minutes.
What qualification is required?
Talking about eligibility, for Paper-I, the candidate must have passed Senior Secondary (10+2) with 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education or 4 years B.El.Ed. Must have a degree. Whereas for Paper-II, it is mandatory to have graduation and with it D.El.Ed. Or B.Ed. degree is required.
How much will be the fee?
The application fee has been decided according to the category and paper. General and OBC candidates will have to pay Rs 1000 for one paper and Rs 1200 for both papers, while SC/ST and PWD candidates will have to pay Rs 500 for one paper and Rs 600 for both. The last date for depositing fees is also 18 December 2025.

CBSE has also released the complete timeline related to the application process. Online application will start from 27th November and will continue till 11:59 pm on 18th December. At the same time, the correction window will be active between 23rd to 26th December. Admit cards will be issued two days before the examination.
