Today, more than two weeks have passed since the ongoing protests against Islamic rule in Iran. In most parts of the country, people are protesting against the rule of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Amidst these protests, the condition of the country’s economy has become very bad and the value of Iran’s currency Rial has fallen significantly in the international market. Today in the international market the value of one Iranian Rial compared to the Euro has become zero. Whereas, the value of one euro is equal to 1.72 million riyals in Iran.
At the same time, if we talk about the value of Iranian Rial in Indian Rupee, then the price of one Iranian Rial in Indian Rupee is Rs 0.000091. Whereas the value of one Indian rupee in Iran is equal to 11,021.31 Riyal.
Movement started due to economic crisis in the country
The protests that started last month on December 28, 2025 on economic issues have worsened the situation in Iran. Meanwhile, the huge fall in the Iranian currency has played a role in provoking protests in other cities of Iran including the capital Tehran. At the same time, the protests that started against inflation, economic distress and rising prices in the country gradually turned into a widespread movement against the Khamenei regime and corruption.
People of Iran are rejecting Islamic rule
At the same time, everyone from the youth to the elderly of Iran have taken to the streets regarding the deteriorating economic condition of the country. The people of Iran are completely rejecting the Islamic rule led by the country’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and slogans of Down with Khamenei are echoing across the region. While a section of the protesters are also demanding the return to the country of Reza Pahlavi, the son of the last Shah of Iran, whose father was ousted from power in Iran during the 1979 revolution.
