India has got the hosting rights of Commonwealth Games 2030, it will be organized in Ahmedabad. The host of this event will be formally announced at 6 pm. Currently the Commonwealth Sports Executive Board is meeting in Glasgow, Scotland. Nigeria was also involved in the hosting race along with India. India also wants to host the 2036 Olympic Games, hosting the Commonwealth Games is a positive step in that direction.
India last hosted the Commonwealth Games in 2010, when the event was held in the country’s capital Delhi. This time the event will be held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, where work is being done to improve sports infrastructure for the last several years.
