The day of Darsh Amavasya is considered very auspicious for getting freedom from Pitrudosh. This Amavasya is celebrated to please the ancestors and to get the blessings of Lord Shiva and Chandradev.
Worship method of Darsh Amavasya
On the day of Darsh Amavasya, wake up in Brahma Muhurta and take bath.
After this, take a pledge to fast with a true heart and start preparations for the puja.
Lord Shiva, Mother Parvati, Chandra Dev and Tulsi ji are worshiped on this day.
First of all, after thoroughly cleaning the place of worship, sprinkle it with Ganga water. Then start the puja ritual by lighting the lamp in the temple.
After installing the idols of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati, perform Jalabhishek. Apart from this, invoke Moon God.
Offer Panchamrit along with milk, fruits, flowers, hemp and datura on Shivalinga.
After this, offer 16 makeup items to Goddess Parvati.
Now light a ghee lamp in front of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati and chant the mantra Om Namah Shivay.
After this, praise the Moon God.
Listen to the fasting story of Darsh Amavasya and recite Shiv Chalisa.
At last pray to God and perform his Aarti.
After worshiping Tulsi Mata, offer water to the Tulsi plant.
Light incense sticks in front of Tulsi Mata. Eat fruits only after this.
Break the fast the next morning only after worshiping God.
What to do on the day of Darsh Amavasya?
