Turkey has achieved such a milestone in fighter jet technology, which till now was considered the capability of only the world’s most advanced fighter planes. For the first time, Turkey’s unmanned fighter jet Kizilelma has hit and killed an aerial target with its radar-guided missile. Till now this capability was seen only in high-end fighter jets like F-15, but now pilotless war planes have also done this feat.
‘Seen without being seen, strikes without being shot’, that is, to remain invisible while seeing the enemy and to strike accurately from a distance. KizilElma has completely transformed this concept into reality. For the first time, an unmanned fighter jet detected a target with its onboard radar, fired a Beyond Visual Range (BVR) missile and destroyed the flying target in the air.

How did this historic test happen?
This test was conducted in the firing range located near Sinop sea coast of Turkey. KizilElma locked on to the fast-flying jet-target with its Aselsan Murad AESA radar. After this the jet launched Gokdogan air-to-air missile from its wing, which directly hit the target. This success made it clear that the new era of unmanned combat aircraft has now officially begun.
