There was a stir in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, when BJP MLA Umesh Sharma Kau was accused of assault and fatal attack on Education Department Director Ajay Kumar Nautiyal. After the incident, an atmosphere of chaos was created in the Directorate of Education campus and there was fear and huge resentment among the employees.
According to the information received, there was a heated argument between the MLA and the officials of the education department over some issue, which soon turned into a scuffle. It is alleged that during this time director Ajay Kumar Nautiyal was attacked, due to which he got injured. Immediately after the incident, he was admitted to the Government District Hospital, Dehradun for treatment, where he is undergoing treatment.
Anger among employees after the incident
As soon as the news of the incident spread, work in the Education Directorate was affected. The anger among the employees increased so much that they allegedly surrounded the MLA inside the office and locked him in the room. However, the situation could not remain under control for long. It is being told that the MLA’s supporters reached the spot and broke the door and took him out. During this period there was a tense atmosphere in the campus.
Employees announced strike
After the incident, the employees of the Education Department have expressed strong protest calling it an attack on the administrative system. Employees say that if the safety of senior officers is not ensured, then how should the common employees feel safe. Due to this, the employees have announced a strike, due to which the departmental work is likely to be affected.
Opposition demanded strict action in the matter
On the other hand, discussions regarding this issue have also intensified in political circles. The opposition has condemned the incident, calling it an example of misuse of power and demanded an impartial investigation. However, a detailed official statement has not yet come out from the MLA.
According to administrative sources, information about the matter has been given to higher officials and the entire incident is being investigated. The police is also collecting facts so that it can be clear what was the real reason for the dispute and at what level the lapse took place.
